Weekly Totals: 12 hours 4 minutes of running, 100.49 miles, 8 total runs
Weekly Recap: This week was a bit different than the previous 11 weeks in that I put a larger emphasis on two long run sessions. I will be visiting family in Wisconsin early April, which lines up with Mad City Ultras, so I decided to jump into the 100 km in Madison on April 12th. I don’t want to take too much emphasis off intensities along the higher end of the aerobic spectrum, but believe I can do so while building out the longer sessions a bit. There were three main sessions this week. First, was a speed work session that I like to do occasionally when Nicole and my schedule lines up. The design is I pace her for a short interval and roll right into a short interval of my own. Recovery is the time it takes Nicole to catch back up on her recovery jog from where I stop my interval. It is fun and I do tend to avoid this one when she is really fit and I am not, ha! Thankfully for me I am pretty happy with where my speed work is going, so it worked great. Second, was a long run where I helped pace a couple friends doing their final marathon long run with goal race intensities blended into it. Third, was the longest long run I have done this cycle and a good look at how I could tolerate a bit more congested volume across two days.

you are gonna have to go back and fix that 3.99 miles run 2 on Thursday. That will make the Strava folks crazy. : ) I hope the weather is good for you at Mad City, I'm sorry I will miss that one.
