Thanks Marty! Yeah, I swear everyone I know has been sick the past week. It was a bit of a goofy one, but happy to be on the other side of it and felt pretty good despite. Has me optimistic about this weeks training :)
Hey Zach, thanks for the insight! What are you building up for at the moment? Are you mainly just base training and looking how things progress or are you targeting a specific race in the near future?
My pleasure! Excited to be sharing it all this year. I am aiming to peak for Six Days in the Dome (100 mile / 12 Hour) in June. I'll likely do 3-4 races in prep for it as well. Basically just doing base right now as I get my volume back under me. I will not be avoiding speed work, but keeping it a bit more gradual for a bit before getting more structured around it in a few weeks.
Thanks for sharing your journal! When do you usually make your notes: before/after training, morning/end of the day? And i’m also curious if you also journal by hand in a notebook :)
When I am at my best, right after I finish the workout. I sometimes lapse and fill it out later in the day. My goal is to get to consistant with doing it right after. Haha, I was on the fence about doing it handwritten and posting an image of the journal. I opted to not expose all of you to my penmanship, but perhaps a 2026 initiative!
I always handwrite my routine and results, but I really like the idea of a recap too. I look back at some workouts and can vividly recall them to a tee; but I'd love to be able to have a tangible log noting how I felt, both physically and emotionally/mentally. Thanks for sharing, Zach!
I hear you! I wish I would have done this throughout my running journey to be honest. Would be fun to look back on the exact thoughts during certain training blocks. Thanks for checking it out!
Good start to the year! Glad it was only a head cold, there is lots of virus stuff going around.

How long do the strength sessions take?
About 20-30 minutes at the moment.
